PROPOSED UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE UPDATES:

The Community Works Department is proposing revisions to the  City of Farmington Unified Development Code pertaining to Article 6, subdivision standards. Staff is requesting public feedback and participation in this update. Draft versions of the proposed updates are available for review by clicking on the linkS below.

SECTION 6.4.6 SUBDIVISION ACCESS

The proposed update is currently scheduled to be heard during a regularly scheduled meeting of the City of Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission on February 29, 2024. All parties interested are invited to this public meeting. The meeting will be held at City Council Chambers, 800 N Municipal Drive Farmington NM 87401 at 3:00 P.M.

The City of Farmington Community Works front lobby, located upstairs at 805 Municipal Dr., is open for walk-in customers. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Duties

The Planning Division of the Community Works Department is responsible for the implementation of the city’s Comprehensive Plan, the administration and enforcement of the city’s UDC, Unified Development Code and the administration of other ordinances, plans, and policies related to land use, which are adopted by the City Council.

Development

The division oversees and coordinates the city’s processes relating to development review, including the compilation of review comments from various city departments and other entities, such as Comcast, CenturyLink, New Mexico Gas, and the Farmington School District.

Staff Functions

Staff review subdivisions, summary plats, site plans, development plans, land use applications, provide support to several commissions and boards and are responsible for assigning addresses. The division regularly host meetings with developers, engineers, architects, and builders to discuss their proposals, and are available to answer questions from the general public.

DRC - Development Review Committee

All petitioners are encouraged to meet with city staff at the DRC meeting which is held every Tuesday morning at 8:15 a.m. These are virtual meetings. Please contact staff by Friday morning to schedule for the next Tuesday meeting. For more information, please call (505) 599-1333
