Lake Farmington


Lake Farmington offers tons of outdoor experiences. Come to fish or enjoy the water on a non-motorized watercraft, swim at  The Beach or get some exercise exploring the shoreline.

The lake access fee, going into effect April 15, 2017, grants you access to all of these recreational opportunities and more!

Open for Public Use 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Lake Access Fees:
Lake access fees can be paid at the Main Entrance off of Hwy 516 between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Access outside of those times must be paid at a self-pay station. 

Standard Vehicle  $5.00

Commercial Vehicle  $20.00
Good on day of purchase only

Standard Vehicle Season Pass $50.00
Good April - March. Sold per vehicle. Non-transferable.

Night Fishing additional $5.00
Per person, per night. 

There are NO additional charges for activities at the lake once the access fee is paid during open hours (excludes night fishing). 
Fishing from Shore:
Allowed year round with valid state fishing license. 

Lake Open to Non-Motorized Watercraft:
April 14, 2018 - October 28, 2018, Sunrise to Sunset
All non-motorized watercraft must be inspected daily at the main entrance (no additional cost). Inspection station is open 7:00am to 7:00pm.

The Beach:
Swimming and wading in Lake Farmington is ONLY allowed in the designated area, The Beach, during  designated dates and times.

Memorial Day to Labor Day

Seven (7) days a week, 12:00 - 6:00pm

Varies depending on number of life guards present.

Farmington Police Department to begin enforcing lake entry fee

Starting June 14, the Farmington Police Department will begin enforcing the $5 entry fee for Lake Farmington. The fee was implemented on April 15, 2017 with a 60-day grace period. The $5 fee includes entry into The Beach. Please remember, The Beach is Lake Farmington’s only designated swimming area. Citations will be issued for non-payment of entry fee and swimming in non-designated areas.
