Beware of Fraudulent Calls Claiming to be From the City of Farmington
Customers have reported to the Farmington Electric Utility System that they have received phone calls from people posing as City of Farmington employees attempting to collect money. The City of Farmington Electric Utility System will never call our customers demanding money. If you receive a call like this, please do not pay these people. Hang up and call the Farmington Electric Utility System at (505) 599-1353 to verify the status of your account.


Telephone IVR System

The City of Farmington now offers a fast, convenient option to pay your bill, make a payment arrangement, obtain a billing or payment history, or report a power outage. This system is available 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, and 365 days-a-year for your convenience.


Just call our Customer Service line at 505-599-1353 and begin the experience. With the use of your utility account number, you may access all options available through our system. If you don't have your account number, you may say "representative" after the menu options are given to be transferred to a friendly Customer Service Associate any time during our office hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Automatic Bank Payment Program
With your authorization, we can automatically deduct your monthly utility bill from your checking or savings account and provide a statement for your records.

Budget Billing Plan
To help you eliminate high and low billing swings throughout the year, you can level out your monthly payments to a fixed amount per month, based on your average usage. To qualify, a customer has to have at least 12 months of billing history on that account.

 Credit Card Payment
Residential customers may pay their utility bills with a Master Card, Visa or American Express credit or debit card. Credit card payments are accepted by speaking to a representative, paying our automated telephone system directly, or by signing up for Auto Pay on our payment portal.


 Third Party Notification
You may designate a friend or relative to be contacted if an account becomes delinquent.

 LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
LIHEAP assists eligible persons and families with their utility bills.  To apply for the LIHEAP program contact:

Utility Assistance Program 
Customers experiencing difficulty in making payments may qualify for assistance. To learn more about the requirements and application process, please contact ECHO at 505-325-7466, or LIHEAP at 505-566-9600. ECHO requires an appointment so please call them in advance. 

Payment Arrangements
If you receive a delinquent notice, call Customer Service at 505-599-1353 and ask for a payment arrangement. You can eliminate paying a warning tag fee, disconnection of services, and reconnection fees just by making a call to our Customer Service Center.
